As the weather warms up the tick and flea populations start to multiply like crazy. Due to this our pets well being becomes more especially important as we head into summer.
Before investing in any treatment first consider your dog’s coat which may well need a good shampoo after winter. Where ever possible pets bedding should also be washed and treated.
You may also consider treatment of your pets outside “chill areas”; this is likely where very often fleas will breed.

Dogs do need regular bathing–but just how regular depends on several factors such as the dog’s outdoor environment and type of coat.
Your choice of shampoo is important according to Fido’s type of coat as well as any skin condition that he/she may have. Be careful not to overdo the washing thing however- you do not want to dry out their fur and coats.

How do fleas work?
There are four stages in the life cycle of a flea: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Depending on environmental factors such as temperature and humidity, type of soil etc the total life cycle of fleas can take anywhere from a couple weeks to many months.
It is important therefore that you invest in a quality product with long lasting effectiveness in order to conquer your flea population: once-off treatments are in-effective as they don’t ordinarily encapsulate the entire cycle. In a nut shell there are potentially 3 waves of fleas that need to be treated.
It is very beneficial to also treat outside area’s where your pets like to scratch, dig and lay around (including bedding) as this is most often where the flea’s will be breeding.
